List of logged in users is displayed on the Community page after the "Browse groups" section.

This is a bit problematic - there may be lots of users logged in, which makes listing them a bit problematic. A more technical problem is that Zope is optimized for reading, not writing. To keep a list of all users we'll need to store something everytime someone clicks on a page (so we now they're still online). This will slow down the system considerable (read: I won't do it).

Of course we have options: either storing this information somewhere else than the normal database (like an SQL database), or just listing for example the N users that last logged in (this information is already stored).

It can also be other way around - maybe there aren't logged in users to display. Then are we going to say "hey, you are the only one working with LeMill" ? :)

Keeping track of users who are online can be done using sessions. But there are some issues with sessions too.
