Description (last modified by martin) (diff)
Initial Toolbox Interface
In the top of main-window there are 4 tabs:
- Content
- Activity
- Search
- People.
Activity tab
Activity tab opens the activity creation window. It's look like flash authoring software scene creation page – time-line is on top of the window, and it consist 3 default layers – (Sub)Activities, Content and Tools. User can add layer triplets as much as he wants. For (main)activity creation author selects ready made activities, content and tools from three separated list. Those lists are like Flash library panes.

Tools are for example:
- textbook
- dictionary
- exercise book
- whiteboard
- website
- notebook (free form notes)
- forms (text fields, calculations, chart additions)
- special software (for text, graphic, sound, animation, video and code creation)
- workroom
- wiki
- forum or blog or log
- chat
- linking
- concept map
- questionnaire (check list, yes/no, single choice, multiple choice, short answer)
- upload
- help
- tutor
The tools are created by Toolbox team. Teachers are not able to create tools for chat or upload. That's why tab for tools is not necessary.
Activities are for example:
- achieving students attention
- setting up goals
- repeating
- presentation of new material
- individual exploration (reading or listening or watching) of new material
- individual work (exercise writing, drawing, calculating, recording, design [source code, animation, ...], search, ...)
- group discussion
- group work (case study, project, problem solving, role play, journal, exhibition, critical enquiry)
- instructions for individual and group work
- feedback (oral, written)
- evaluation (assignment, test, ...)
- implementation of knowledges in different context
- management of learning process
Most of the content is created by professional designers or enthusiastic teachers. Sub-activities are created by experts of pedagogy. If author want change content or sub-activity or create new items, he have to open them in content window (like symbol creation in Flash). New items are available through content or sub-activity list.
Content and activities are saved separately and reusable through lists in activity creation window. In saving process Toolbox collect information (like name, language, ...) from user profile. Author can also add or change meta-data manually. Meta-data information can be viewed also in content or in activity creation window (like properties pane in Flash).
Main difference between Flash and Toolbox is, that design result is not linear animation, but linked network. User can click freely on every node of that net and view content and use tools.
