Description

In the user profile, people should be able to select how they are ready to collaborate. We'll provide a list of examples, which they can choose (checkbox), and an open field for them to write their own choices. The list could be something like this:

  • I'm willing to give a virtual lecture using [technologies] (so the check box entry is followed by an open entry field, where the user can list the technologies that he can use (like skype, irc, video conferencing)
  • I'm willing to give presentations of my work in conferences/meetings/teacher training/etc.
  • I'm willing to do teacher training
  • I'm willing to mentor others

The example list won't contain any activities that normally happen in LeMill.

The user profile is already complicated enough. I think that we should NOT add this section to user profile. We should predict that all LeMill users are willing to collaborate. Skills already show the areas where they are willing to collaborate.

I think we should close this story.

I think the story is important. We must think what is the motivation for teachers and other people to work with LeMill. The possibility to become a "star" that is asked to give talks and to present her work for others is important.

This is not a high priority. We shoudl be able to design forms so that they are not complicate even if there is a lot of stuff in there. I do not consider this "user profile", but information about what people can do for each other. If we think this from this perspective it may be better. It can be "hidden" to another page, too, and the "results" are shown among the user only if they have filled up this form, too.

This won't be implemented until we've solved the issue with complicated forms. Edit user information page is full, but it could be split.
