  • Title (input type=text, required, General.Title - 1.2)
  • Author (input type=text, Life Cycle.Contribute.Role – 2.3.1, Cycle.Contribute.Entity – 2.3.2)
  • Location (input type=text, required, Technical.Location – 4.3)
  • Language (select, required, General.Language - 1.3)
  • License (select, required, Rights.Copyright and Other Restrictions - 6.2, Rights.Description - 6.3)
  • Description (textarea, General.Description - 1.4)
  • Tags (input type=text, General.Keyword - 1.5)
  • Learning Resource Type (checkboxes, Educational.Learning Resource Type - 5.2)
  • Target Group (checkboxes, same options as for material)

License select menu has the following options:

This form is enough for all four mandatory metadata elements:

  • General.Identifier - 1.1. Should come from Location.
  • General.Language - 1.3. Same as Language in our form.
  • Technical.Location - 4.3. Same as Location in our form.
  • Rights.Copyright and Other Restrictions - 6.2. “No” if license is “Public Domain”. Otherwise “Yes”.

Basically it is the same metadata that we ask about material, except:

  • For material we can get Author, Location and License automatically
  • For material we do not ask Description

I was thinking more how to make this information as close as possible to information that we have about LeMill material. I decided that we actually need to add Learning Resource Type. This is close to template type in LeMill.

I we do not have that information, then users have to look at each external resource to see what type of content it is. Often teachers are looking for certain type of content.
