Description
I have been presenting LeMill about 7 times now and each time when I am explaining the "Duplicate and edit" feature I have a feeling that actually we do not need this feature:
1) "Duplicate and edit" is forking. I think that it is better practice to improve the original resource than to fork.
2) It is confusing to have "History" (versions of the same learning resource) and "Versions" (duplicates).
3) Duplicates are automatically created when users explore the system and click on the "Duplicate and edit" link. I see it each time after teacher training.
4) Original version and all duplicates are displayed in the search results. There is no way to understand which is the original version (If duplicates get published and have the cover image): http://lemill.net/lemill_search_results?SearchableText=tüpograafia
How did we get this feature? I was drawing a prototype and thinking "what else could we have in the actions portlet?"...
I think this feature is not important and we should remove it.
