Draft user stories

This page is used to collaboratively work on ideas for user stories. All information here is in a state of flux and should be modified. When a story crystallizes, it will be moved into the ticket system as a story.

Epics are huge stories that can't be split into tasks, but rather must be split into several smaller stories. Please add stories under each epic, as appropriate.

Searching for content (epic)

User can look for content with a simple keyword search, or alternatively by filling out fields that match the LOM standard that the search engine supports.

Search everywhere

User may use the general search where ever inside the "toolbox" repository tools (library) she is in.

Advanced search

If interested in the user may visit advanced search page to perform advanced search with advanced fields, such as LOM (maybe), by creator, by users, by colour(*, by history (time when created), by geographical location of the creator, by tags, by size, by (we must see what already are in LOM)

*) each course chunk (some meaningful entity) has "cover page" with some colour

Browsing the search results

When viewing search results all the search criterias are displayed and are "clickable" links performing search within the results or the whole repository.

Browsing for content (epic)

Based on the information of the user, the system presents suitable content in the front page. The content can match the content the user has previously used, or match the user's profile (grade, subject area, pedagogical approach).

Using content (epic)

The user can decide to use some content in her courses by making out of them a "publication". Teacher can also customize the content to better fit her own course. Editing is similar to creating or modifying content. After customization the content can be linked to be visible for the students in the learning environment that the teacher is using.

Making links to content to use it in VLE

For each piecec of content as well for each publication there is human redable URL on which users can make links to (permalink). The permalink is shown within the content and there are explanation how to copy it and use in your own course.

Creating publications from content pieces

When browsing and searching content user may "add it to shoping cart" (maybe we call this something else). From the countend collected to the shoping cart user may create "publications" with ready made templates. User may add content to the "publication template" and then publish it. The publication will have a permalink that is human redable, e.g. http://www.XXX.com/box/username/catogory/publication_name

Creating new content (epic)

The user can create new content either by starting from scratch or by modifying an existing content object (when licencing permits). The user can select a suitable template for the content and then with an easy-to-use editor modify and add information objects (text, images, videos, sounds, simulation applets) into the object. The user can test the object at any time, and can interrupt work and return to it later. If the user decides to share the object with others, she selects a suitable license for it. The user can also share the unfinished object with selected other users, who can then all take part in working on the object and collaboratively finish it. The system makes sure that several authors can work together seamlessly and don't delete each other's work.

Construction and exploration of "own content"

User can search, find and select ready made and well granulated resources. He/She? can put them in order that is suitable for him/here. He/She? can use for construction different interfaces or metaphors like list, table, chart, time-line, pictograph, tree, map, space, building, body, shelve or some n-dimensional diagrams. For construction he/she selects resources from search result list and drag them in to fields of selected structure template. In structure he can focus, zoom, reorder, select resources or view there content.

Ready made structures can be shared with other users. They can copy the structure and make some changes or they can change or compliment original structure if author allows that. Structure can also be built in collaborative way by group of teachers or students.

All categories (school subjects), themes etc. user RSS Feeds to make it easy to follow up the content creations and recent changes.

Dashboad

Each user has her own "dashboard" for managing own content, project on which she is working on, with feeds from sections (categories, etc) she wast to follow.
